There has been a number of times where I’ve had to provide support to living history events as an Enlisted Soldier of the Royal Engineers. Due to my age I find it appropriate to be that of a Warrant Officer Class 2 or a Senior NCO.

During Summer 2017 this involved taking on the role of being in charge of a team of sappers and labourers for the construction of a Pillbox at the trench system at the Great Dorset Steam Fair. This was done over the period of 5 days and used the equipment and techniques that would have been used during the late war period.

In Autumn 2018 I provided support to the Army Battlefield Study. The first part of the study involved the provision of briefs and displays on the Logistics required during the War. As such I was on site as a Warrant Officer/ Sergeant Major of a Mounted RE Unit and spoke about the wide variety of Engineer roles that were being undertaken by the Corps.
